CONCEPT
In a fusion of rave culture and climate action, SOLARPUNKS joined forces with NYC underground promoters Renegade for a pop-up performance by UK electronic legends Chase & Status, Star Eyes and NAM at Venice Skate Park. The event marked a radical departure from traditional rave power setups, completely eliminating the need for diesel generators that typically fuel these high-energy gatherings.
Using a 480v battery system, we energized Pure Filth Sound's legendary sound system, known for its bone-rattling bass and crystalline highs. The successful implementation didn't just demonstrate the viability of fossil fuel-free music events - it showed how the underground music scene can lead the way in reimagining our relationship with energy, proving that the future of dance music can pulse to the rhythm of the sun rather than the rumble of diesel generators.
The merging of SOLARPUNKS' technical expertise with Renegade's deep roots in dance culture to create a proof of concept for how dance music culture can embrace clean energy without compromising on sound quality or vibe. This collaboration showed that the spirit of rave culture - always about imagining alternative futures - can help pioneer practical solutions for a more sustainable music industry.
