    PC+1

    ecothèque took place at PC+1 - a gathering platform, creative development lab and the official headquarters of the Production Club team centered around the shared love of music, art and technology.

    The event was fully powered with SOLARPUNKS’ creative community microgrid resources including batteries & inverters - all juiced by free, abundant energy provided by the sun!

    When we say all, we mean stage lighting, audio, video screens, screen printing, uplighting & festoons, fridges, freezer, art, and more!

  • SOLAR-POWERED PERFORMANCES

    All audio & lighting were powered by SOLARPUNKS’ distributed energy resources (DERs)!

    Music was provided by Durante, Starya, DJ Ÿ, Rohaina Hassan, Jesse Sachs, Alex Rose, and DJ Electron.

    DISTRIBUTED ENERGY RESOURCES (DERs) DEMO

    We created a DERs installation to visually explain how we used our creative community microgrid to power the party with photons. Thanks to Production Club for designing the infographics and handling the rigging!

    SOLAR-POWERED LIGHT ART INSTALLATION

    astrothebaptist created an interactive, solar-powered light art installation that taught attendees about the electromagnetic spectrum.

    ON-SITE SCREEN PRINTING

    Attendees were able to get a secondhand tee or fleece blessed with our solar-powered on-site screen printing. They were also encouraged to BYOB (bring your own blank)!

    NATIVE PLANT POTTING STATION

    Attendees were able to paint a pot for a native plant with Solarpunk Park, in support of their Butterfly Garden Project at Radio Hill Gardens! They also featured their tomato buckets, an urban farming initiative.

    Poppy seeds were provided by Theodore Payne Foundation for Wild Flowers and Native Plants!

  • PORTAL & INTERSPACE

    Guests explored a solar-powered audio-visual installation crafted by The Öther, a creative collective that explores humanity's ongoing dance with duality.

    In addition to this more introspective "Interspace" moment, The Öther also created a scenic moment entitled "Portal,” which was inspired by the solarpunks-esque restoration of the L.A. river.

    UPCYCLED & VINTAGE BAZAAR

    Attendees discovered beautifully crafted and curated creations from All Purpose Sauce Market ft. Tried & True, Mauvais Garcon, Asaka Fushimi, Buttery Pat, Search Studios, and Baby Shine Kids.

    RENEWABLY POWERED VIDEO ART GALLERY

    We curated “solarpunk” art & infographics by artists including Nicole Kelner, Dustin Jacobus, Brenna Quinlan, Commando Jugendstil, Joan de Art, kasch (Hongo Kongo), Christian Holland, Sean Bodley, Marc Ngui (Future Parfait), Kris-Jan Delport, John Bonner, AsuRocks, Jay Martinovich, and Cheryl Augustin. All art was featured on fully solar-powered video screens and can be found summarized here.

    TreePeople gifted native plant seeds and taught us the difference between invasive vs. non-invasive species with their ecology game. They’ve planted more than 3 million trees since 1973!

    Guests indulged in delicious bites including vegan mac ‘n’ cheese, jackfruit sliders, and vegan ice cream by avocadamama and White Label Creamery!

    No single use plastics here, y’all. We also hired Compostable LA to help us compost any leftover food.

    (Proudly) trans-owned bartending team Keep Coming Back Bar lovingly crafted complimentary refreshing non-alcoholic concoctions in partnership with Guayaki and Boisson.

    Stella Artois, Onda Tequila Seltzer and ever & ever beverages were also provided for free as generous product donations.

    Our friends from The Sun Trip are OG solarpunks who get around on DIY sun-powered trikes. They rolled by the event and parked their sweet rides to inspire others to think about their relationship with energy & mobility!

    Beloved vinyl & analog purveyors In Sheep’s Clothing showcased a selection of records from their record shop on Fairfax Ave. including classics, rarities, now sounds and merchandise.

    Our friends at Cotopaxi gifted packable totes made from remnant fabrics to the first 50 attendees that arrived on-site and were RSVP’d. Each bag is a one of a kind color!
